Fig Taylor Lecture

Today the Illustrator and ex agent Fig Tayor came into talk to us about how we should go about creating our personal portfolio, in turn to help get hired.

One of the points that she couldnt stress enough was that art directors are spoilt for chioce in the UK when it comes to illustrators.

To when it comes to producing a portofio: I need to recognise my one strong style that i believe i do better over the rest, and stick to it throughout my portfolio.

  • Quirky and different
  • Consistant in style
  • Easily remade (for example after uni, i wont have all the print making facilitys available to me - how will i produce work like this in future?)

  • This is who i am, and this is how you use me
  • I am sutable for the work you are looking for (research on the company)
  • I don't ever have a bad day when it comes to creating my work - therefore you wont recieve a bad piece of illustration from me
