In this Illustration I have now noticed that I have left the 'H' out of fashion, this can be easily edited, if I do go on to use this type in one of my images.

Sewing Type
A couple of days ago I stated that i would love to experiement with typography via sewing (as another direct link to fashion) But as you can see in these photos above, i'm not as good at sewing as I thought id be... But I gave it a go, only to eventually see that this isnt where one of my strengths lie, and wouldnt work in my favour.

Sumery of my work so far
I am finally getting onto the right track for my project, I have made alot of changes within the last couple of weeks, and was worried that the project would loose its meaning in the process... But I think if I pull together maybe 3 - 4 pieces dedicated to text, this will bring in some continuety through my illustrations.
I have had a few days where I have been full on lost with where I could move forward with my idea, but today everything has become alot clearer in respects of my end result and how I will be presenting it in our degree show.

Photoshop edits
Above is a variation on what I could do for this simple collage. My favourites are; Top right and bottom left.
But I feel the top right has that little bit extra, the conrast of black and white have been put right up and a low opacity red stripe provides movement and a bright aspect to draw in the eye.
I have also been playing around with this image, and have come to like the edit below. The subtle block colours bring out the whole image, and provide a conrast from the textures of the collage.
Tutorial with Johnny Hannah
The main questions that i had for my tutorial with Johnny today, were mainly concerning methods of presenting my work at the end of year degree show. I have in the last couple of days rethought about having a book or flyer altogether, to just doing a collection of pieces that would anA2 size.
Having a look at the layout for everyones space in bargate, i have been given one out of a possible 4 glass display cabinets. Johnny and Pete explained to me how big it was, and this meant that i would have to scale down the sizes of some of my images slightly, but the idea of presenting my work in this way i thought was more exciting and alowed me to do alot more with my work in a way.
Here are a couple of variations on what i plan to do with my space provided. The one that i am most likely going to carry through (90% sure) is the 1st one shown above. Instead of painting the bottom of the case a traditional white, i want to paste on dress pattern tissue paper (that i bought the otherday) as this; i feel would tie all my illustrations together and keeps with in the theme of 'fashion'.

One thing that Johnny did help me with a great deal today was helping me with idea's on how i can edit my exsiting collage work on photoshop. He mentioned that they all needed abit more colour and something more to give them more of a finish, as when it comes to colour within my work; it is all within the same spetrum of tones.

Experiementing for an A5 final / buisness card front cover
Here are some variations of this drawn image I have been working on, the process was to add a new layer - fill and multiply over the sketch.
I have decided not to go further with this particular image, as i cant get the standard of work that I was hoping for. But this method of lassoing block colour to a desirable shape to fit within this image, I feel fits in with my style of working, although sometimes well thought out it is also very spontanious and experimental.

Weekly To do List
Monday
- Scan in A3 sized collages
- Play around with scans on photoshop - variety of edits
- Make a list of possible phrase's and sayings that i could include on smaller collages
- Draw a variety of layout designs for Degree show
- Have a rough idea of how many images i want to be displayed, so i can manage the time i have left to get all the images right
- Work out which designs will be printed off bigger (a3 / a2) or smaller (a5 / a6)
- Work on Typography mainly today
- Have a go at sewing typography on fabric
- Continue editing exsiting collages
- Draw a few thumbnails on how i can develop some of my work
- Developing images composition
- Experiment with sizes of work and how i would place them together
- Further Development on editing and the compostion of images.
