At 11am this morning we had a meeting about the next couple of weeks leading up to our degree show. We received this timetable (shown above) as another aid to manage our time effectively. Idealy i would love to have all my work completed / or very near done, this coming Friday - ready for printing and preparing my space in bargate. This timetable states when we meet our assigned 1st year to aid us with preparing our space provided, and all the dates such as when our work will be assessed to when we have to empty our space.

Kat Macleod
The Illustrator Kat Macleod was suggested to me by Chris via email. I find her method of working very inspiring.
E-mail from Chris
At the end of my WIP on thursday chris suggested he email me with some research that he thought would inspire me to develop my work further. These are the links that were sent.

From this list, i am already a big fan of the works of 'My Dead Pony', but the first two links here have greatly inspired my on how my book would look if i organise and produce it well, before i pictured it to be very scrapbook esc, but looking at a few examples on 'hand made zines' has sparked alot of new ideas and different paths i can explore.

Going from the advice i recieved on thursday i have started to produce collages on an A3 scale, ready for editing and blowing up to an A2 book format.
Below are the pieces i have managed to create so far over the weekend.
This image (above) inits self i feel has worked very well, theres layers of paint and imagry along with movement around the page. When it comes to editing my work, i plan to keep this pretty minimal, as i love to look and feel of an image when it is created by hand. This image for example i am going to scan and print of to the desired scale as is.
This image is created with a variety of wallpager, magazine cuttings, line drawing and an area of drawing on one of my two A1 scale drawings.
When it comes to editing this image, one thing i may do with this one is experimenting with block colour using photoshop.
This is probably the one illustration that i am not happy with from this weekend. As the overall look to me isnt very desireable and inkeeping with the style and strength of my other images.

Week in Progress
I had a WIP today with Louise, Dereck and Chris. I brought in some of the work i did over easter, this being, my 2 A1 scale collages and some pattern making involving shoes.
Chris
Chris's advice today has in a way changed the format of my idea. Instead of creating an A5 sized flyer. He suggested i go big for more of an impact, this being an A2 scale book - to show off my collages more effectively.
With the type of fashion illustration i am creating, chris made the point that this will help me when i come to making a move in my career. That by doing a large scale book like this i can send this off to art directors in the future and hopefully show them the wow factor too.
Dereck
The one remark that i kindof argree with and has stuck in my head from dereck is how he has always said he loves the way i use collage in my work, but i need to step my work up about 3 gears to gain full pretential.
He suggested i work directly onto newspaper. ontop of dress patterns and experiment with carbon paper and tinted pens as to try intigrate my collage and line together more.
