Conclusion

Through keeping this Blog, I have been able to successfully portray all the decisions and experimentation's that I have had to make to get top the stage of my project now.
My idea's throughout this project have changed several times, but the one thing that I have kept the same from day one is the linking meanings of 'Obsession' and 'Guilty Pleasures'.

Near the beginning of this project I had decided to create a flyer for a new fashion range, or boutique shop, I stuck with this idea for ages, unsure of the end result when it came to giving my piece a name or deciding on the details like the location of this show, and questions such as:
'do I implement a list of designers on  a page of this flyer?'
'Will I be designing this advertisement piece for a fashion show?', 'Will there be a shop part advertised?'.
It wasn't until I had a WIP session with Derek, Louise and Chris, where I was admitting i was stuck when it came to visualising my end piece that I decided to change things to the way they are now. The space I have been given for our degree show was a big part in this, as the only effective way to present my work would be in poster format, Not straight forward blank wall / pictures in frames.. i can now add extras and present my work in the way that suits me and my style.

The amount of times I changed my idea when it comes to the layout of my work, in itself was a time waster, I kept getting lost when it came to visualising the final outcome, and how it would come together... if I had the chance to go back I wouldn't get hung up on the end piece, but give myself more development on the images them self.. To perhaps give my work that little bit more continuity... But I will just have to make the best of what I have now and hope the pieces will all come together as I have planned.
These pieces of work could be valid when it comes to mainly editorial work, and easily assembled in any fashion opening or event.

What to be expected in my final exhibition

Variations on work i want to produce.

Experimenting with past work

When it comes to work like this, and the I have done in the last few days. I'm going to print all of them out, and see how they fit together in front of me. This way I can gain more of a perspective on which ones I need to develop and why.

Finalising

If I were to select this image for my exhibition, it would be printed off at an A5 size, for one of the 'shoes' images.

numbers and layout

Alongside all my illustrations I am going to have around 5 or 6 images dedicated to typography, these will carefully placed to bring all my finals together, and clearly show the viewers what my work is about. Some of the planned type pieces are going to say; 'My fashion obsession is...', 'Between love and madness lies obsession', 'shoes', 'bags' etc.

Here I have started to layout a few images on my drawing board to have more of a vision on how many images I am going to have in my show, and how I can place them together for my idea to take off.

Looking back at one of my layouts I drew up for the exhibition and taking this into account, I have decided to choose between 10 - 15 finals to do up for my show.

Seeing what it would look like against the dress pattern tissue paper. This photo makes it clear to me, how I have to give my work that extra something to make them stand out in contrast of the background.
